Stop chasing your slides

Stop chasing your slides
I watched for a minute and then asked:
“Why are you afraid to be the leader of your presentation?”
They looked confused: “what do you mean?”
“You keep clicking next slide & then talking about what’s on it.”
“Isn’t that what I’m supposed to do?”
“Only if you want the visuals to be the leader.”
Here’s 1 way you can instantly solve this problem:
Simply delay clicking the slide. Use the slide as further understanding and a recap of what you just said, not as a spoiler of what’s to come.
Now you are the leader,
You are the FOCUS.
& the slides simply come along to help out as needed.
