Talk with instead of Present to

Change how you talk with your audience
My wife said:
“Don’t you use that voice with me”
“What voice? I responded…
“You know the one you use with your students, when you’re presenting”
Even though it was like 10 years ago, I still remember that day.
That 1 line changed how I present forever.
I knew what she meant, & if my wife didn’t like it, why would my students?
It took me a while, but I changed:
🙌
I stopped presenting to my students and started talking with them instead.
💪
2 years later I was recognized with an outstanding teaching award.
🙌
And now it is a core component of my voice training practice.
It all comes down to 1 simple question:
Would your audience rather be presented to or talked with?
Sit with that question, answer that question,
and then do more of that and less of what you used to.
Let me know how it goes in the comments.
Day 8 of 25 days with presents for the presenter in you.
